Mapping A Sphere

1) Create a sphere in modler name it and save it out

2) Bring it into Layout
(illustration 2)

3) Open 'Image Editor'

4) Locate and Import the 1st file of the Image Sequence (image 4)

5) Select "Sequence' from the 'Image Type' drop down menu in the 'Image Editor' (illustration 4)

6) Finally, open the 'Texture Editor', Select the name of your Sphere (sky dome) in the "Layer Name" column.

Select "sphereical' from the "Projection Type' drop down menu.

Select your Image sequence from the "Image" Drop down menu.

Be sure that the "Axis" is set to "Y"

Select "Automatic sizing', to fit the sky image to the sphere.

For these maps be sure that the "Helght Wrap Amount" is set to "1.0"

And you are set.


Though this tutorial is for Lightwave, the principles remain the same for other 3D Apps.
